WEATHER WATCH

Level 3

Confidence Level=70%

We are issuing a Weather Watch for two separate events.

1) Saturday into Sunday for rain

2) 2) The early part of next week for two other events, Monday for wind and possibly rain and Tuesday on for rain.

During Saturday and, more especially Sunday, rain will fall over much of the country. Areas that are likely to see the most are the south west and Wales but also other areas of England and Scotland. Totals seem unlikely to reach warning limits, falls of 15-20mm are most likely, but may be higher over hilly areas. The state of the ground is what really raises our concern as even these totals may cause some stream and rivers to overflow.

From late Tuesday into Wednesday is the next area of concern, initially for wind and later for rain. It is a long way off but please do keep your eyes and ears open for Alerts on TV channels and on Net Weather.

Two secondary lows are currently being forecast to affect the country. The first could give warning limits for both wind and rain in the western half of the country, especially Northern Ireland and western Scotland. The second with rainfall totals being of concern for Wales and England.

Please keep checking for updates and check the links below for river levels.
