I am starting to report in 'Storm reports'.

Localised gust of 90mph recorded when an area of heavy precipitation and considerable helicoidal downdraughts arrived on the hilly area of northern Durham where i live.

It has suddenly started absolutely chucking it down in Bristol, with very strong winds to boot!

And it has gone very dark.

Just to add, yesterday there was some very strange, constant fine warm drizzle - very nice

stuff indeed to play football in, very refershing.

Hello, I've been put on pre-moderation on the BBC messageboards for writing Spanish messages - very petty - so I thought I'd pop over here...

What sort of gusts have been recorded so far? I'm surprised warnings of storm force winds have been issued, when gusts are forecast to reach only 70mph...I thought storm force was 90mph.

Yep...that'll be the cold front\squall line that gave us the 90mph gust and horizontal rain!
