After a mild and windy night it was an overcast start with calmer conditions. This was shortlived however, with the wind picking up considerably as the day went on. The cloud did break though, with a few sunny spells in the late-morning. The evening has seen the cloud break further, with some prolonged clear spells which have allowed the temperature to fall despite the winds still being moderate to strong.
