Been a lovely start to the day with a frost & air frost (low of -2C), and virtually crystal clear blue skies until around 2 this afternoon. It has turned increasingly foggy and now visibility is down to 50m in my area. Got up to 6C as a high today but now down to 3C.

Same here, I'm afraid. ;)

The last two days have been fairly grim to say the least, with only 1 hour or so of clear weather yesterday and about 6 hours today. This afternooon it's been so foggy I could only make out the shape of my approaching bus when it was only 100-150 metres away!

This view of Bristol's Floating Harbour gives an idea of what it's like.

Well what can I say, this has been the harshest day I have seen for a while. We had freezing fog all day and the temperature has also been below freezing for its entirety. The drive home from work was to put it frank a little on the scary side (people up your backside on the motorway when the visibilty is down to about 5 metres in places ;) ).

The temperature is falling away rapidly, current conditions below:

Air Temperature: -4.2 degrees Celsius

Barometric Pressure: 1035 milliBars

Wind Speed: 5.4 knots

Wind Direction: 162 degrees East from North

Brrr Brrr Brrr, bring on the snow you know we want it ;) .

Birmingham is suffering badly. The premiership football match against Bolton has been called off because the ref could not see the goals from the center circle (no change there I hear some people cry).

Meanwhile the fog across Tamworth has got worse - down from 1000 meters at around 6pm to 150 meters on average, with thicker patches around rivers.

Thickest fog i've seen for many years here today, down to about 40-50 Yards at times and it's lasted all day, the temp got up to 4.7c but it's been steadily dropping since about 3 pm and is currently 0.7c(still foggy), looks like another sub zero night ;):)
