My son said it was snowing in Reigate this afternoon. Ground wet, but a dusting of snow on bonnet of car and windscreen so i guess we have had our first snow of winter. :D

Sky now clear with temp of 2.1c

Conditions in Leeds: clear, -1C.

Conditions in Cleadon, Tyne & Wear: cloudy with shower activity close by out in the North Sea, and 1.1C according to my WMR928NX weather station. So if showers come onto the coast there, they might have a covering tomorrow morning. I've known snow settle on many occasions in Tyneside with temperatures around 1C.

Today started off mild, then it became very windy with heavy rain showers. Showers turned to sleet and hail and then finally snow by late afternoon. About 5 0 clock there was a flash of lightning follwed by thunder and very heavy hail which covered the roads and then turned to heavy snow. Frequent heavy but short snow showers from then on till about 10 o clock when an even heavier hailstorm covered everything and then turned to snow which started to settle. Currently have a couple of cm's lying and its still snowing.

Current temp: 0.4c
