Had a light covering of snow overnight,very wet though,only lying on grass and cars etc.

Still a welcome sight.

more consistent snow showers in stanley, co. durham. Please call the sunday morning football off its freezing!

Update: Snow now lying on grass and paths, but the snow has turned to rain down in Newcastle so will see if it does the same here.

Some sleet here this morning, NW precipitation type radar reveals snow fell very nearby and a friend reported snow 3 miles from here.

We've just had a SNOW SHOWER in Blackpool, in November. Wasn't a lot, but I can't believe I've just put those words in the same sentence!

If that's not a good sign for the winter I don't know what is.
