Temperature has risen to around 5C here. Amazing, because last night it dropped as low as -4 under clear skies, but gradually increasing cloud cover and changing wind direction has brought about a temperature increase that has scuppered the chance of any freezing rain. Just drizzle really and that seems to have stopped now.

Been a rather dull and nothing sort of day to day. There were some heavy showers and mist early this morning but mostly dull with outbreaks of drizzle all day. Much milder though with a high of 9C after a low of 0C. Now dry but cloudy.

Report for Wednesday 30th November 2005, Readings taken at 23:55.

After a cold and clear night it turned overcast by sunrise. The cloud then never lifted throughout the entire day and there was light drizzle at times, though not really amounting to much. After the joint coldest night of the year it was another cold day, though the last few hours have seen the temperature rise as the milder air digs in. Nevertheless, November finishes up half a degree below average, the first such month since July 2004.

Current Temp: 5.6°C

Max Temp: 5.6°C (Current)

Min Temp: -2.4°C (at 02:30)

Humidity: 93%

Min Humidity: 88% (at 01:19)

Pressure: 1001.3hPa (Falling)

Dewpoint: 4.5°C

Wind: SW (Calm)

Rain Today: Trace

My November average is 6.5°C (-0.5°C Below the 1971-2000 average).

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
