Tonight – Cloudy with some rain over Scotland and N Ireland, drier over much of the rest of the UK, with quite a lot of cloud in western areas but generally clear in the East. A widespread severe ground frost is likely in SE England, with a local ground frost in western areas. Temps 2-7c in Scotland, 4c in N Ireland, -5 to 0c in England and Wales.

Tomorrow – A Sunny day over SE England, with this brightness tending to spread in to Wales and SW England after a cloudy start here. N Ireland will tend to have a few showers, while there will be mixture of cloud and a few sunny intervals in N England, and fog may linger here too, W Scotland will tend to be damp with drier weather in SE Scotland, Temps 7-9c in Scotland, 2-6c over England and Wales.

Tomorrow Night - Clear in the South, more cloud in northern parts, but cold generally below freezing in many spots and down to -6c in Central Southern England.

Wednesday and Thursday - A Lot of Sunny or brighter weather in the south, possibly a little damp in the Northwest at times, Temps cold 2-5c generally cooler for the SE.

Summary - Frost Returning

Tonight – Some patchy cloud in Eastern but generally drier and clearer in the west, Temps -2 to 0c, with a widespread frost, but cooler in some rural spots.

Tomorrow – Much of Western England, Western Scotland and Wales will tend to have a dry bright day with good sunny spells, N Ireland will have a few brighter spells but there will be more cloud here, while Eastern parts of Scotland, NW England will always tend to have a lot of cloud and not much sun. SE England will also be cloudy with some wintry showers, feeling in the south, with a bitter easterly breeze, Temps 5-6c generally.

Friday - Sunny in Scotland, N Ireland, N England and North Wales, cloudy in southern England and Wales, with some patchy sleet and snow pushing west temps 2-5c over England and Wales, 5-6c over Scotland and N Ireland.

Saturday - sunny again in the north, with a few wintry showers in southern parts, but also some sunnier intervals, temps 3-6c over England and Wales, 3-7c over Scotland and N Ireland.

Sunday - most places will have good sunny intervals, temps 5-6 over England and Wales, 8-9c in N Scotland.

Summary – Cold and Bright

Tonight – Another generally clear night in Western parts with patchy frost, more cloud in many Eastern areas with a few showers possible in the SE, Temps 0-2c with rural areas being colder than this.

Tomorrow – Much of Western England, Western Scotland and Wales will tend to have a dry bright day with good sunny spells; N Ireland will have mixture of sunny spells and cloud. Eastern parts of Scotland, NW England will always tend to have a lot of cloud, with the cloud advancing west during the day to Central areas of England. SE England will also be cloudy with some showers, which may be wintry in places, while NE England may be rather damp, Temps 4-6c generally.

Saturday – Another generally dry and bright day in the west, with a brighter day in eastern parts, with some sun possible.

There will be a strong east wind on Saturday, taking the edge off already cold temperatures. Temps 3-5c over England and Wales, 6-7c over N Scotland.

Sunday and Monday (Summary) – England and Wales, Sunny Intervals, Temps 5-6c.

Scotland and N Ireland, 4-6c, with some sun but some cloud floating around especially in NE Scotland.

SEVERE WEATHER WARNING – Dense Fog for N Ireland, SW Scotland, and N England, with visibilities down to 50m.

Tonight – A Widespread frost tonight for Scotland, N England, parts of SW England, West Wales and N Ireland, with clear skies temps down to –4c in many parts, closer to -9c to -10 in Highland Scotland, However it will tend to be cloudier in Central and Eastern England, with cloud, Temps 3-4c here.

Tomorrow – Overnight fog will tend to clear in most pots but it may linger in the Central lowlands and NW England and possibly SE Scotland.

Much of Scotland, N Ireland and NW England, SW England and West Wales will have a sunny day. There will always tend to be more cloud over East Wales, the Midlands and much of Southern England for much of the day, Temps 4-5c generally, 7-8c in SW England and NE Scotland. but struggling to get above freezing where the fog lingers into the afternoon

Wednesday - A cloudy day in most places, a few brighter spots n NE Scotland and West Wales, Temps 2-5c in England and Wales, 3-7c in Scotland, 5c in N Ireland.

Thursday - Cloudy over most spots and dry, with perhaps a little rain form a weather front in NW Scotland, Temps 4-8c in England and Wales, 6c in N Ireland, 5-9c in Scotland.

Tonight – A frost tonight for NE Scotland, N England, parts of SW England, West Wales with clear skies temps down to –5c locally, However it will tend to be cloudier over much of England, most of Wales, and Southern Scotland, Temps -2 to +2 elsewhere.

Tomorrow – A cloudy dry generally, Most of England will be cloudy although a few brighter interludes are possible in Kent and Central Southern England. A few brighter spells are possible in Wales, but more cloud than on Tuesday. NE England may see a little drizzle, but the best of the sunshine is likely to be reserved for N Scotland. Temps 2-5c generally, 6-7c in SW England and NE Scotland..

Thursday - Cloudy over most spots and dry, with perhaps a little brightness in NE Scotland, Temps 4-8c generally.

Friday - Dry and Cloudy, but damp in NW Scotland, Temps 4-8c generally.

Summary - Anticyclonic Gloom

Tonight – Cloudy over most spots tonight, Temps -2 to +6 in Scotland, with milder air in the north, Colder over England and Wales, 0 to -2 c shown, much colder than that in rural areas.

Tomorrow – A cloudy dry generally, Most of England will be cloudy although a few brighter interludes are possible in NE England, SW England and over higher ground such as the Pennines, which will be above the low cloud cover. Much of Wales will also be cloudy but sunnier breaks are possible in Pembrokeshire and generally along the west coast up to Anglesey.

Northern Ireland will have a mixture of cloud and sunny intervals, while Scotland will be bright over higher ground again and towards the SE, cloudy elsewhere.

Temperatures will be dependant on sunshine, with 6-10c possible in sunnier spots in Scotland, 7c in N Ireland, and 6c in West Wales and SW England, Under the cloudy skies 1-3c in more likely and a large areas around the home counties may have a ice day.

Saturday - High Pressure continuing to dominate, similar weather, cloudy generally more brightness in SE Scotland, NE England, Temps 7-10c here, 3-7c elsewhere.

Sunday - West and Windy weather possible in N Scotland, cloudy elsewhere, but temps slowly returning to closer to normal, 7-11 over Scotland, 5-7 over England and Wales.

Summary - Windier and Wetter

Tonight – Rain in the western half of Scotland tonight, generally dry and cloudy elsewhere, Temps 3-8 in Scotland, 7c in N Ireland 5-6c in England and Wales.

Tomorrow – Tomorrow morning will see the rain continuing in the Western half of Scotland, and mainly dry elsewhere, however by the afternoon, the rain will spread to much of Scotland N Ireland and NW England. Although the far East of Scotland, Manchester, and Merseyside should remain dry.

SW England and West Wales may get a little drizzly, dank weather due to onshore SW winds but rather cloudy, the rest of England should be dry, Temps 9-10c in the South, 6-8c elsewhere.

Wednesday- Northerly winds will being snow showers to N Scotland, with drier brighter weather elsewhere, with odd sunny spells likely, Temps 3-6c in Scotland, 7c in N Ireland, 7-9c over England and Wales.

Thursday - More snow showers in Scotland, and a few wintry showers are possible over eastern coasts, mainly dry and bright elsewhere with sunny intervals, Temps 3-5c over Scotland, 6c in N Ireland, 5-7c over England and Wales.

Tonight – A band of Wales over Wales, the Midlands and Southern England will push way to the south overnight, leaving showers To follow on to Northern areas, these wintry, winds to be strong northerly over much of the UK, Temps 0-2 in Scotland, 3c in N Ireland, 4-5c in England and Wales.

Tomorrow – Tomorrow morning will see showers over much of Scotland, again wintry in places, showers also for NE England, N Wales and N Ireland, it will tend to be dry and bright elsewhere.

For the afternoon the showers will continue in North and East Scotland, North Wales and N Ireland, with some of the showers wintry in Scotland, it will tend to be dry and brighter elsewhere. Temps 3-5c in Scotland, 8in N Ireland, 6-9 over England and Wales.

Summary - A Cold Night

Tonight – Wintry Showers tonight for Scotland, and NE England with the chance of with some snow in places, Temps -2 to 0c in Scotland, -1 to +2c in England and Wales, mildest in the SW.

Tomorrow – Tomorrow will see a lot of sunshine for much of the UK away form the windward coasts exposed to the Northerly wind. . There will be more showers over Eastern England, and much of Scotland, with many of these showers wintry, and a dew showers are also possible for N Ireland and West Wales, Temps 2-4 over Scotland, 5-7 over England and Wales.

Friday - Sunny over much of the UK, more cloud over windward coasts, temps 3-6 over Scotland and N Ireland, 4-5c over England and Wales

Saturday - More cloud pushing in from the west, bringing rain to western areas, remaining brighter in the East, Temps 5-8c over Scotland and N Ireland, 4-5c over England and Wales.

Summary - Frosty Night

Tonight – A widespread frost tonight, with some Eastern coastal counties of England possibly being under more cloud escaping a frost, temps -8 to -2c in Scotland, -4 to 0c in England and Wales.

Tomorrow – Tomorrow will see a lot of sunshine for much of the UK but there may be a bit more cloud in the eastern coastal areas where a few showers may be possible. In the afternoon, cloud amounts may also increase for Northern Ireland, West Wales and W Scotland, ahead of cloud and rain pushing in over the weekend. Temps 4-6c over Scotland, 3-6c over England and Wales.

Saturday - Cloudy over much of the UK, with rain pushing in to Western parts, it should remain drier and sunnier in the SE, Temps 7-9c in Scotland, 4-7c over England and Wales.

Sunday - Similar to Saturday, with a lot of cloud giving some frontal rain to the North and West, drier and brighter to the SE with Temps 6-9c.

Monday - A Cloudy start, but sunny spells will develop later, Temps 7-10c.

Tonight – A band of heavy rain will push across the UK, giving some heavy rain to most spots, although at the end of the night, Eastern parts will remain dry, Temps 6-7c,

Tomorrow – The band of rain will push eastwards and give heavy rain to eastern parts for the morning, with a mixture of heavy showers and sunny intervals to follow.

In the afternoon, all parts will have a mixture of sunshine and showers, with showers heavy and it will be blustery with strong West winds, Temps 9-11c generally.

Tomorrow Night - There will be strong winds in many western areas, with further heavy rain crossing the UK.

Wednesday - Rain again clearing to the east with sunshine and showers following to Eastern areas, temps 7-10c.

Thursday - Further Sunshine and showers, Temps 8-10c.

Summary - Blustery Showers

Tonight – Showers will tend to continue in Western parts tonight, with drier weather further east, some of the showers will be heavy with hail and thunder and mountain snow, Temps 2-4c in Scotland, 4c in N Ireland, 4-7c over England and Wales.

Tomorrow – The day will start with a west East split with heavy showers for much of Wales, SW England, N Ireland, NW England and W Scotland, and drier weather for Eastern parts of Scotland and England. For the afternoon, the showers will continue with the strong West winds blowing the showers further inland than during the morning, but areas sheltered by hills may well stay dry. The showers will be blustery, again heavy with some hail and thunder, and some mountain snow. Some sunny intervals are possible but especially in the East, Temps 7-8c in Scotland, 8c in Northern Ireland, 8-10 over England and Wales.

Friday - another day of sunshine and showers but less showers than Thursday, Temps 6-7c in Scotland, 7c in Northern Ireland, 8-10 over England and Wales.

Weekend - Unsettled in the South due to low pressure giving rain at times, drier and brighter in northern parts. Temps 7-8c in Scotland, 7c in Northern Ireland, 7-10 over England and Wales.

Summary - Blustery Showers

Tonight – Showers will tend to continue in South Western parts tonight pushing East as the night goes on, there may be some more general rain in the NW but this too will push East, Showers will tend to die out in Western parts later. Winds will tend to be strong especially in South Western parts. Temps -5 to +4c in Scotland, 3c in N Ireland, 4-5c over England and Wales.

Tomorrow – The day will start with remnants of the rain lingering in NE Scotland and will tend to stay here for most of day. There will be a sharp ground frost for Western and Central Scotland, there will be a couple of showers during the day in N Ireland and W Scotland, it will tend to be drier than Thursday. Much of Southern England will have a mixture of sunshine and showers, but decent sunny intervals.

The most showers will tend to be in South Wales and SW England, and these will tend to increase during the afternoon, the showers across the UK will again be heavy with some hail and thunder and some snow over the mountains, winds will tend to be lighter than during the night. Temps 6-7c in Scotland, 9c in Northern Ireland, 7-10c over England and Wales.

Weekend - Northern parts will see a few showers on Saturday, but Sunday will tend to be a drier brighter day with some sunshine, Temps 7-9c .

There will tend to be general rain effecting southern parts of England and Wales over the Weekend, with North Wales and the Midlands tending to drier and brighter, Temps 7-9c,

Monday - There will be some rain in SE England, but generally drier elsewhere, a cold NE will set in, Temps 5-7c.

Summary - Cold winds

Tonight – There will be a few showers tonight especially in Eastern and North Eastern areas, where they could be wintry especially over hills with some snow possible, Temps 0-3c.

Tomorrow - An east west split, Mainly Dry over Wales and SW England with some brightness in the West, Sunny too for N Ireland and W Scotland, SE England and E Anglia may have a few rain /sleet showers, with wintry showers possible for NE England with a covering of snow possible for the N York Moors.

There will be further showers in the afternoon, possible extending into E Wales with some snow possible for the Heads of the Valleys, however most of the showers, again with some snow over hills in Eastern England and Scotland, the best of the brightness over W Scotland and N Ireland. Most of the showers will remain in the East, Temps 6-8over Scotland, 7c over N Ireland, 5-7c over England and Wales.

Wednesday - Another day with of a lot of cloud and a few showers, with the showers more wintry than on Monday, Temps 6-8over Scotland, 7c over N Ireland, 5-6 over England and Wales.

Summary - Wintry Weather

Tonight – Any remaining wintry showers to the South and West will tend to push away giving a dry night in most places, but cloudy , and breezy, Temps -1 to +2c with a touch of frost possible in many places.

Tomorrow - Rain pushing into Eastern Scotland and E England with snow possible on higher hills especially in the North, it will tend to be drier in Southern England , SW England, Wales and N Ireland, but rather cloudy.

It will tend to remain dry but cloudy in N Ireland, the precipitation band will tend to push South Westwards during the day and tend to turn to Snow over many parts of S Wales and the S Midlands, especially over higher ground, turning drier in Scotland and N England later in the afternoon. Temps 7-8c over Scotland, 3-6c over England and Wales. Overnight the rain/snow will tend to pushing further south, turning to snow in many places,

Friday - Any remaining sleet and snow will tend to push away to the South leaving most places with a dry but rather cloudy day, Temps 7-8c over Scotland, 3-4c over England and Wales.

Saturday - Most places rather dry with sunny intervals, Temps 5-6c.

Tomorrow- Generally cloudy but dry over many parts of Southern England, there will be further rain sleet and snow in South Wales and SW England although this will push away to give a drier afternoon, The best of the brightness will tend to be over Scotland and N Ireland, generally feeling raw in a brisk Easterly wind, Temps 7-8c over Scotland, 2-5 over England and Wales

Saturday - Cloudy with the odd brighter spell, Temps 4-7c generally.

Icy -with a cm or two of snow for parts of the Midlands into Wales by end of tonight was mentioned.

Given the 850 mb temps and 500 mb thickness contours etc, I think he could be right. It all relies on ppn - rather fragmented on that cold front - but all it takes is a 10 min snow shower before dawn ---- :)

Not much detail given apart from the usual areas recieving snowfall. Norfolk/Northern Scotland seeing up to 10cm's of snow during the net 24hours, other eastern coastal areas about 2-5cm :)

Even though the graphics for wednesday show barely any snow, she mentioned that showers would be more frequent over Wales/N.ireland.

Summary - Snow and Ice

Tonight – A Cold Front will push South tonight bringing rain to many places, but will start to turn to Snow on its back edge in the South later, but this may will make ICE a hazard as many place will have a cold night to follow. There will be snow showers developing behind the fronts for N and E Scotland, E England, and a few for West Wales and N Ireland, Temps -2 to 0 in Scotland, -1 to +2 in England and Wales.

Tomorrow - Tomorrow will start frosty in many inland locations, and this mat be slow to clear, there will be a few snow showers to start over Wrst Wales and SW England, with more persistent and heavy snow showers for NE England and N Scotland, Drier over the spine of the UK.

During the afternoon, the showers will continue in N and E Scotland, and E England, with up to 10cm of snow in upland areas of the North, while further snow showers will continue to effect SW England, W Wales, and some will develop over N Ireland, but these will be less frequent than those in Eastern areas, Temps 3-6c, but feeling sub zero in a brisk Northerly wind.

Wednesday - There will be further Snow Showers for N and E Scotland, and E England, but the snow showers in N Ireland, West Wales and SW England will become heavier with an increase risk of accumulation of snow and disruption here later, it will be mainly dry over much of the spine of the UK, Temps 2-5c

Summary - Heavy Snow possible for N Scotland, N Ireland, Wales and SW England

Tonight – Many inland parts will have a dry clear and very frosty night, but snow showers will continue over the Eastern fringes of England, n Scotland, N Ireland and West Wales. Temps -3 to –1c over Scotland, -1c in N Ireland, 0 to –2c over England and Wales.

Tomorrow - Another fine tomorrow will see large section of inland Britain have a bright sunny but cold day. Snow Showers will continue over E England, but only on the coastal fringes. Northern Scotland will continue to see heavy snow showers, with some heavy snowfalls here.

N Ireland, West Wales and SW England will see more snow showers, , due to the wind switching more to a NW as opposed to a N, heavy snowfalls are possible, but southern areas on low ground are likely to see snow melt in between the showers.

Thursday - Further Snow Showers, with perhaps a few more inland for S England, Temps 3-5c generally.

Friday - Further showers over N Scotland, N Ireland and West Wales, windward coasts, with the threat of more persistent snow over Southern England, Temps 1-5 c generally.

Summary - Heavy Snow possible for N England, Wales and the Midlands

Tonight – A Band of heavy snow in a line from North Wales, NW England, N Midlands, will tend to push South and give some heavy snow as it does so, with the Midlands, South and Mid Wales having some heavy snow for a time later, but with the snow being lighter in the East and fading away later in the night as it pushes south, Turning drier later behind, but with further heavy snowfalls for Northern Scotland. Temps 0 to –4c generally, possibly –10c in the Scottish Snowfields.

Tomorrow - Snow showers will continue for N Scotland and will be heavy, further wintry showers will continue for N Ireland, North and West Wales, while many sheltered areas to the South and East will have long sunny spells and it will fell very nice. Temps 2-4c over Scotland, 5-7c over England and Wales.

Friday - Further showers over N Scotland, with wintry showers for N Ireland and North and West Wales, it will again be sunnier in the sheltered East, Temps 4-7c.

Tonight – Cloud and Rain pushing in from the west, with some snow on Northern hills, however it should stay dry in the East, Temps -1 to +4c, milder in the West, Colder in the East.

Tomorrow - In the morning, It will be wet in Scotland, with some hill snow, drier in eastern parts of England and cold to start, while SW England, Wales, and N Ireland will be wet as rain pushes in.

In the afternoon, Drier in N Ireland, more rain will end to push into Southern parts, but it will turn drier in Northern areas as the rain will have pushed through, Tempos 5-8c over Scotland, 6-11 over England and Wales.

Summary - More rain coming

Tonight – A rather damp drizzly night in many places with some hill and coastal fog in many places, Temps -1 to +3c in Scotland and N Ireland, 5-8c over England and Wales.

Tomorrow - A narrow rain band will push in early tomorrow for SW England, N Ireland, Wales and this will steadily move NE Through the day.

It will start dry in SE England and NW England but these areas will turn wet during the afternoon. While Scotland and NE England, will have a mainly dry day with some sunshine and only a few showers.

Turning drier later over Wales, N Ireland and SW England with a few showery outbreaks possible, but these may be blustery with Gales possible in the far SW. Temps 7-8c in Scotland, up to 9-10c over England and Wales. Some Gales are likely for the far SW.

Tomorrow Night – The rain will continue to push NE, but should tend to stall over Southern and Central Scotland, however another rain band will push into SW parts later.

Friday – The rain will continue to push NE with showery weather pushing into Wales and SW England later, turning quite wet over N and NE part of England later, Temps 7-11c.

Saturday – Uncertainty at the moment with the chance of some snow especially for Northern parts, as colder weather tries to push in from the east.
