Thick freezing fog overnight and until 1030, the fog then thinned to mist.

The day was overcast and misty with occasional snow grains or very small flakes of snow.

6-8mm of rime above 290m giving a traditional winter wonderland effect not seen for several years.

If the temp' doesn't rise overnight the max' today of -2.8c will have equalled the coldest Feb' day of 1996 and will be the lowest max' for any month since then.
