Snow/wintry Precipitation Reports, February 23rd 2006

Well snowing moderately here in Manningtree and back in Colchester since I got up at 6.30, settling on grass, trees and cars but not on tarmac. A nice suprise seeing as it was supposed to be rain/sleet today, though it will probably turn back to rain later.

Being snowing since 645am here in South East Essex, Cars covered and a fine covering on the trees and grass but none on the pavements. Turned a bit sleety now though.

The snow turned to rain here, but has turned back to snow again! 1C

21st Feb - Snow showers through the day, some very heavy with strong winds. Settled above 300m. THEN THUNDER 'n' LIGHTNING AND SNOW AT AROUND 18:00!!

22nd Feb - Heavy snow in the early hours and more ligt flurries through the day, 1cm above 300m

23rd Feb - Snowing since 06:30, quite heavy with small flakes. from reports its snowing down to 80m ASL in this area

It's been snowing lightly in Northampton and Wellingborough for over an hour now. Settling in the green stuff and on top of cars, but not roads and pavements yet.

After a 30 min period of no snow, its started again, albeit light and small flakes.

Strange snow though this morning. Doesnt seem very light in weight, and float down. It seems to just be really 'limp' as it falls.

snowing lightly in Reading...very slight and light as with Oxford. ..will it settle and the flakes get bigger I wonder...

Snowing here in Hunsdon Hertfordshire coming down heavy sticking on cars and grass but not on pavements and the roads. <_<

Snow started here at 7:30am

Initially light grains but now small flakes. Not particulary heavy and not really settling except on some cold surfaces.

Light snow started about 10 minutes ago in Newbury.

Looks like light snow here – you need a microscope to see the flakes, and there may be some drizzle mixed in with the snow. It’s had to tell from looking out the window. Temp has dropped though – now at the lowest temp so far, 1.8C.

Was snowing here in Russel Square, London......at the moment sleeting but its getting heavier, although odd burst of rain.

woke to a dusting this morning now been snowing non stop for three hours but is now just melting now so no lying snow but still coming down
