Met office radar shows large band of rain over this area, nice pink and red colours,

which is failing as heavy snow now here in Oldham, quite large flakes, sticking to

cars/ fields, albeit wet in nature...looks like the easterly wind is kicking in!

Rain turned to snow at about 4am here in Leeds. Nothing has setteled exept a little slush on car windows. As the PPN moved away it has turned to a sleety drizzle.

A short spell of moderate-heavy snow has whitened the ground here.

About 1cm lying. Heavy snow further north in the Peak, the Cat and Fiddle road is closed, about 7cm of snow up there.

Ditto here: fifteen minutes or so of back edge snow around 6:15 this morning; just enough to leave a very thin coat on the car. Rivers locally are bank full with combined melt and last night's sustained heavy rain.

Had some very heavy wet snow for a few hours this morning, didn't really add much to the existing snow pack. 1.5cm max. Below 200m it was falling as icy rain.

Had a covering this morning, (about 1-2 cms). Soon petered out as I came down towards Huddersfield, looks like it was about 800 ft or above where it stuck enough to give that 'all over white' look.

Light snow flakes now falling. Small flakes, about 5mm across. Nothing on the radar as yet though.

We've had some light snow here in the last hour or so. Didn't realise till I went outside, and there is a very light dusting on the cars.
