Snow showers, not settling.

For days of snow falling this is now the record snowiest March I have ever experienced since I started taking records.

Interesting that as there has only been 4 days this March when it hasn't snowed here in Aberdeen!

2 Snow Reports

Yesterday - Snow pellet/hail flurries around 9pm (sorry I can't tell the difference)

Today - Around 9am, moderate/heavy snow shower, not settling though.

Had a few flurries overnight but had persistant light to moderate snow falling all morning which left over a cm on the ground. Very fluffy, dry flakes. This was followed by some light snow showers this afternoon. At around 3.30 it turned to ice pellets and became heavy for a while, giving a slight covering again.

Light, occasionally moderate snow this morning from about 0600 until 1130, 2cm lying at midday. Showers of snow, grain snow and small hail this afternoon. Lying snow largely thawed below 300m but it remains white above 315m.

Been snowing here in a very-very-heavy-infinitessimally-light snow kind of a way for around an hour now. I needn't say that it's not going to amount to anything; that much is a foregone conclusion. The intensity on Stratos's scale is around 1.2: more than last night then. Had three or four old fashioned light showers with nice feathery flakes this morning, though this afternoon, lower down, it was rain. Snizzle above around 200m this evening.

Had a proper snow shower lasting about 40 minutes sometime between 2-3pm this afternoon when I was in lovely Rushden High Street. Light outbreaks of snow pellets most of the evening, currently 1.1C.

Light flurries of snow for past couple of hours. Sprinkling on favoured locations such as car roofs, pot plants and sheltered house roofs. Not expecting to make a snowman.

Occasional graupel showers starting to become heavier and more lengthy. Also now having some snow mixed in.

Not much on the radar, so dont expect it too last long.

Also, the surfaces have now turned wet, so no settling in the lighter showers.

very fine snow grains again this morning in Birmingham when I left my house at 7:10. It also looked like there had been more substantial precipitation in the night with many cars having a thin layer of snow on the screens and roofs. Very damp on the ground though. And it now looks like fine drizzle out the window.
