An extremely wet night gave way to a mostly cloudy start with occasional sunny spells. There were a fewlight showers during the day but these rarely amounted to much. The last few hours however have seen the arrival of overcast conditions and a heavier spell of rain. Temperatures were well above average for the time of year and felt rather mild due to very little wind during the afternoon and evening.
