We had some light showers early this morning, pressure slowly risisng, with the highest morning temperature so far this month. One of those quite calm doing nothing sort of mornings, can't quite make up its mind what to do just yet.

We received the staggering total* of 2mm rain early this morning which has taken the monthly total over an inch. Since then the sky has been grey (bright early afternoon) with odd light showers. Max of 14c and a calm day.

Temp now 12c.

Report from Central London today - sodding wet wet wet ! You'll no doubt see in the news later with all the marathon coverage but god did it petroleum distillate down ! Then just as we left - at around 4pm - it finally stopped ! Typical. And then driving home for Wandsworth back to Sutton - it started off dry and here it is now exceptionally grey and wet with that really heavy drivel stuff that I hate. Such a contrast to yesterday.

Recorded a high here today in Sutton off 13.4 degrees.

Edit - petroleum distillate down !! I like it !! You can work out what it was I typed originally but thats a much better description !!

Terrible conditions for the marathon :o

Here's what I found about Petroleum Distillate.

" Eye, skin and respiratory irritant. Harmful if swallowed, causing vomiting, diarrhorea, drowsiness, and, in severe cases, pulmonary oedema. Harmful by inhalation. In high concentration may act as a narcotic. Degreaser. Harmful if splashed in the eyes."

Conditions here much more favourable: Dry, overcast, 12C.

It's been a GLORIOUS sunny day with unbroken sunshine almost all the way throughout. Temperatures peaked at 17C and it felt very warm in the sunshine. Very light breeze as well.
