I'm currently working with a local project to South Edinburgh which has been set-up on a brand new alottment site. It employs staff and uses volunteers to engage people with mental health/confidence problems etc. in constructive activity to help them socialise, exercise and (eventually) eat healthy home-grown food. It's very much a low-level intervention for people who would otherwise bedcome embroilled in a downward spiral which could ultimately mean medical treatment.

Does anyone know of a similar project to where they live - as I'm looking for ideas for the project and for sources of funding to help in its sustainability.

A few years ago, Joe was organising a nature area for the local primary school, they had a sensory garden, raised beds for easy access, amoungst other things planned for it, but the lack of volunteers put paid to it. But he did learn quite a bit in the planning process, Joe might be able to help hun. If you think he can help pm me and I will send you his email
