Looks like the showers are starting to go on the metoffice radar. Hopefully some good thunderstorms today.

No seabreeze here today and it's already at 20°C well no wind here at all actually - lovely and warm.

Quite a change from the last week. Clouds again. 7/8 Ci, Cis and As. The wonderful cirrus (Ci) of an hour ago has spread to cirrostratus (Cis) and has almost obliterated by developing Altostratus (As) below. Temps about 17C; very light and variable anticyclonic breezes; still very good visibility, but slightly hazier than it has been all week; shorts and T-shirt weather, but no good for sunbathing today!

Clouds to look out for today would be altocumulus castellanus and altocumulus floccus. Both indicate instability and if they are found in a changing sky of high and medium level clouds, they are excellent precursors of thunderstorms.

Quite sunny so far, still not a cloud in sight bar the odd tiny whisp of a Cirrus, also quite warm presently.

Just after writing that last post, I had a look at the rainfall radar (thanks for reminding me mcyates) and I saw the showers all around Dawlish and to the North of Exeter, in the Haldon Hills. No rumbles of thunder yet, but the parasol is in and the bench, chairs and tables covered up!

The storms may well develop to the North of me and move Northwards; we may miss out, but best to be prepared! The garden could benefit from a good soaking, with the warm, dry, weather that it looks like we'll get next week.
