Beautiful. A clear, sunny day with a brisk SE breeze throughout. Max of 26c. Temp now 22c, going to be a great evening for watching the lingering sunset and the 3/4 moon.

We've got a stiff Easterly on the South Coast of Devon, blowing at Force 4/5. Now Easterlies, down here, are no good for man, nor beast. I saw a tanker really struggling into the wind this afternoon, off the coast and the wind, like Eliot said will be "blowing the sea white and black" tonight. Good surf.

One of the oddest things about this heatwave will be the presence of a fairly stiff breeze. I'm not sure the Met office are taking that into account with their heat warning.

Temps are about 17C, but it is cool enough for a fleece.
