now i'm really jealous!!! (brings back memories of 20 years ago - before children!)

28°C now, it happened as a massive gust went through knocking over quite alot of plant pots and chairs - since then there has been a rapid rise in the temperature - remarkable stuff

very hot in poole, its 26c and wind gusting to 30mph. very warm wind not cooling at all! :D Probably the most blue sky i have seen in england in a very long time. :D

Temp' currently 19.5c after a max' of 22.4c and an overnight min' of 14.0c.

Sunshine only briefly interrupted by a few patches of altocumulus early this morning and some cumulus humilis during late morning and around midday.

A brisk SE breeze all day, highest gust was 26 mph at 1118 g.m.t.

14.81 hrs of sunshine today brings the month's total just short of 90 hours.

We've got a stiff Easterly on the South Coast of Devon, blowing at Force 4/5. Now Easterlies, down here, are no good for man, nor beast. I saw a tanker really struggling into the wind this afternoon, off the coast and the wind, like Eliot said will be "blowing the sea white and black" tonight. Good surf.

One of the oddest things about this heatwave will be the presence of a fairly stiff breeze. I'm not sure the Met office are taking that into account with their heat warning.

Temps are about 17C, but it is cool enough for a fleece.

It hit 29°C as max at about 6pm this evening, courtesy of a delivery wagon driver's thermostat. Not sure what the official stations max was though.
