This is the second and final round of voting. There can be only one winner :)

This competition was for photos taken during May 2006. The winning shot will form part of the 2007 Net-Weather Calendar.

One photo will be picked as the winner from the six finalists below.

I'm sure you'll agree that once again the quality of the shots is of a very high standard.

Voting will end at 12noon Friday 30th June.

Voting on the June Photo Comp will then begin a few days later :)

Voting is as simple as simply clicking in the poll for your favourite picture, these are the photos that made it through to the final round (in alphabetical order):

John Cox's photo does it for me, perfect colour rendition and contrast between the colours of the sky , grass, sea and sand, you can almost imagine yourself there, well done mate! :) . If i could have a second vote it would be louby's cracking capture of lightning :) .

They are all so good, they make mine look pathetic

I has been really really tough to pick.

But the one for me is Wibs I love the simplicity of it, With Johns a very very close second.

Hi Louby,

Thanks for your kind words re my May photo.

I loved yours.

 Thank you.

I absolutely love the colour contrast in yours, and as I said such a hard task, I feel very guilty that I can only pick one :( It is getting harder to pick each month.

Ok I admit I voted for myself... I guess there are not as many lightning fans here as I hoped  !!! lol btw for anyone interested that photo is compleatly unedited (even colour) except to darken as it was a little overexposed on the origional.

Essan is my faviourite other, pin sharp, and with that rolling mist you get across the parts of the SW. Excellent :(

Where was that taken Ed? It's quite a communications tower - not to mention the lightning!

I always heard those communications towers were a possible danger to health, I mean look at what it did to the environment around it!

Great photo's everyone, it is a shame only 1 can be picked!

Its located in Botley, Warlingham, Surrey. The lightning was actually some way behind it, It is no where near as close as it looked. The tower was about 100-150m away, the lightning about half a mile. Its not a big tower, just looks quite imposing in that image, it was a 15 sec shutter. I guess the lightning happand about 3 sec into that, I am not kidding that by 7 seconds I was running across the road back to the car feeling that OMG that looked close. Its high and open up here. As it happend the storm died shortly after that photo.

Essan gets my vote when I consider which I would most like on my wall for a month :)

Like John Cox's photo and Wib's, all would look good in a calendar.

A high standard as usual.

Man this is difficult, possibly the best quality ever in a final vote so a big well done all 5 of you.

I'm voting for Essan because, although I love the 2 stunning lightning shots and the peace of John's and Wibs' pics, his just takes me right to the heart of a misty, eerie moorland :D .

wow, really all the photos are great, its a hard chocie because they all have good points, I really do like the Lightning shots, tuggy's shot is very nice with lovely flowers and WIBS, Essan and John's photos are very atmopsheric indeed.

But John gets my vote, the contrast between the bright golden sands, the brewing sea, the blue sky, the rocky gray mountions, lush greens of the fields and the white cloud pushing over the peaks of the hills.

It's stunning and my vote goes to John!

But all photos deserved to win this, truely great!

Thanks to all who voted for my photo and all the kind words too.

Wibs: a stellar photo, a classic.

Tuggy: The best colour photo of the year in my humble opinion

Essan: A photo I wish I had taken, Brilliant mood and perfect resolution.

Lightning Ed and Louby: Brilliant lightning photos and what patience these must have taken.

Its’s been an honor to compete with such great members. B)
