Good strong T-storm, lasted over an hour and a half (still the odd rumble as i write this), lightning every few seconds or so, followed by heavy rain

Pretty constant rumbles here, after our storm of 6.30-7.15am. Spits and spots of rain. Weather radar shows the main convective activity just to the West of Exeter and heading North into Somerset and to you, Sue. A bit worrying for Thunder at the car boot sale - sit inside the faraday cage would be my advice and sell things through the windows!

Looking at the radar, it seems the storms in the SW have fizzled out, but there seems to be activity bubbling up in Scottie - any reports from 'oop norf' ?

Not so sure about the storms leaving westcountry. We're supposed to get them round here at 12ish.

Bit on the nervous side

Totally unrelated, but Sue I love your avatar.

The thunder has been rumbling on and off since about 10 this morning, some very heavy rain, seems to be brightening now.

Ah yes, thanks for that. It should now say 'Ilminster, Somerset'!

Nothing here since that earlier storm, but I'm hopeful given the recently issued slew of UKMO warnings. I use a camcorder to capture lightning strikes, but you have to separate the fields to get usable stills from video.

Thunder and lightning since 9am this morning. Still going on now and no sign of a let up. SW of here must be getting hammered as the majority of huge crashes appear to be from that area - Glasgow etc

Can report first storm of the year. Began at around 2:00pm and crashed on for about an hour. Got very close at one point, and the claps were sudden and loud.

You should be proud of me, because towards the end I even forced myself to go out and watch the end of it! Saw three very bright CG lightening flashes. Didn't hang around longer than that, but I'm guessing the vast majority were CG. Quite intense for my area, and hoping it's stays quiet from now on!

Been thundering just north of Manchester now for a couple of hours, had a huge storm earlier with lightening a bit too close for comfort!!! Gone very dark and still rumbling out there - oh by the way, the rain was something else too! I think we may be in for a very busy and noisy night here. As I type it's going darker and just started to rain again - ummmm anyone fancy walking my dog!
