I know this topic isn't in the Storms and Extreme weather section but we have had a tremendous thunderstorm up here with some very scary lightning and the frequency of it. The lighning was stricking everywhere, about 10 times a minute, the ground, clouds etc...was wondering why none of the lighning detectors on any of the pages i have checked aren't picking it up? As far as im aware after speaking to people the lighning is still on going in Aberdeen (south and north)...can anyone help with this?

None of them are very accurate.

Probably the best one is the Netweather one but there is a delay to see the data.

The StrikeAlert personal lightning detector is pretty good at detecting strikes within 40 miles.
