Good Afternoon All,

Here in Coventry we have had an unbeleivable storm, not sure of how much rain fell initially but it was wild. To me it was like when you see the TV reports during a hurricane. It went very dark, lots of lighning and thunder and the wind and rain was amazing.

The Met office appear to have a lot of weather warnings out.

Sorry everyone stay safe.

Cheers

Another storm this afternoon lasting for over an hour still dull overcast but the sun did manage to shine for a short time. Very humid and sticky. So much for a record July rainfall for Newhall went right out the window you can never count on the weather can you, This is the most rainfall we have had in months will have to check my records to see when it was but can't remember off hand.

how pleasant after the storm;

temp is now 17.9C but still humid, but so much more pleasant than the past 24-36 hours. Last night was unbearable, min of 18.5C. Then a torrential and very good thunderstorm this afternoon, 17.4mm, the most rain in months let alone in 1 hour and a bit.

Temperature peaked at 28.5 in my garden this morning before the storms moved in from the south. It felt more like the Mediterranean yesterday evening and overnight and it isn’t going to be much better tonight. Currently 22C outside with humidity in the region of 80% - very uncomfortable as I type..

A generally cloudy but warm and humid day.

Was woken by a thunderstorm to the south east around 1.30 a.m, no rain fell here.

A few short light-moderate showers between 0820 and 0900 followed by another thunderstorm moving to the W/NW between 1050 and 1120, this was accompanied by a short burst of heavy rain.

Sunny intervals developed during the early afternoon, leading up to the main event when there was a thunderstorm between 1550 and 1645.

Frequent thunder and lightning with a period of torrential rain for 10-15 minutes and a longer spell of moderate rain to finish.

Further sunny intervals during the early evening but remaining humid.

Temperature is currently 17.8c after a max' of 22.3c and an overnight min' of 18.4c. Rainfall from 0900, 14.8 mm.

Evening everyone,

We had 2 cracking thunderstorms, 1 around 7:30am, which took out my electric several times and another around 3:pm today, between them depositing 15mm of rain, almost as much today as we have had in the last 2 months. Has been very muggy with intermittent sunshine, top temperature 25.2c.

Currently in Burton at 22:50hrs, clear and damp, slugs and snails are everywhere.

Very muggy here today, min 16.3º, max 25.6º........7th consecutive day above 25º, and 11th time this month.

Early thunderstorm dropped 1mm rain, and at last this evening it rained moderately for an hour or so, with a few rumbles of distant thunder, giving a further 4mm rain, and a daily toal of 5mm. Thats only 7mm for the whole month of July, and 22mm in the past 8 weeks.

Been out and about today, can't believe how brown everything is.

Went in the garden a while ago, and despite this evenings rain, everything is literally baked solid.
