Understanding what the charts show - Wind Speed And Direction:

    Rtavn068.png

The white arrows show the 10m wind direction and speed. The arrows point to the direction where the wind is blowing from. A long feather is equivalent to 10 knots; a short feather is 5 knots; and a triangle is 50 knots. The speed is built up by using these combinations.

The colour shading is used to determine the 10m speed by using the scale on the right hand side of the chart.
