Yesterday we had really heavy rain and storms most of the morning. Today not as much in the way of rain (yet!), but the thunder has been almost constantly rumbling all afternoon.

Have had massive thunderstorm here in SW London since 5.15pm. Sometimes it sounded like bombs going off :D Everyone in my office were terrified :( Sometimes constant lightning and directly overheard, people were screaming outside...

Couldn't get home as road flooded, had to stand under a bus stop for shelter for 90 minutes in the end...

Thunder rumbling in the distance, hope it is moving away now

Been raining quite hard here for 20 mins or so. Odd rumble in the distance.

Nothing like the spectacular display we had at 0230 this morning! Then we had about one flash every 20 seconds or so for half an hour. Some strikes very close and loud. Power went off for a short while. Very heavy rain with road outside flooded. According to News, one house was struck about 7 miles away.

Back to now... Rain now easing off but it is still overcast and dark. Still hot and humid.... Is there more coming?

Some spectacular forked lightning and loud thunder here in Thanet from a storm just brushing us to our West. Can't see if its CG but certainly some forks streaking across the sky! Getting louder too

A good storm around an hour ago. Seemed to just grow out of nowhere just to the south of Canterbury.

Frequent C-C lightning, loud rumbles of thunder and heavy rain for 30 minutes.

Done the garden a world of good.

Had a small storm pass close by, very heavy rain and about 20 + IC lightning and dull boming thunder, very short lived though.

was going round the m25/m40 about 7:30pm last night and drove into one hell of a storm, just as we drove on the M40 the heavens opened and driving at 20-30mph you could not even see the end of the bonnet as it was raining SOOOOO hard!!!!!!!!!!! windscreen wipers were useless as they couldnt clear the screen quick enough, there was flash flooding as we came off the motorway... There was lightning all around us and the motorway looked like a river. The sky was a dark grey brown colour gave a funny atmosphere, very dangerous driving conditions

Absolutely nothing showing on radar but the sky has gone as black as night to the South-West, if anything happens shall report back.
