Quite a strange day.

Started with great looking clouds and stormy looking to the N, cleared to a sunny morning. Cloudy for a few hours around midday and then some towering cumulus built nearby. These cleared and since 15.00 it's been clear and sunny but very breezy.

Max 29c so very hot again, down to 22c now and feeling fresher.

We have just had the heaviest hail I have evr seen here in Bucks, whole ground went white - massive thunder, lightning, very large hail stones, like small stoned, you couldnt have gone out in it.

I am too scared to look at my car, in case its damaged, it was that bad.

Very very large puddles too!

the consett landscape is now starting to resemble the turkish countryside.ive never seen it so arid at this time of year, lots of plants are showing signs of stress now (poor flowering, leaf drop) and the lawns look like they've been hit with a good dose of roundup :D

Yet another hot day, a max' of 25.7c after a min' of 16.6c last night.

Not as sunny as recently, only 3.59 hrs due to large amounts of altocumulus for most of the day.

No rain here although I thought we might be in for a heavy shower around 1730 as it went very dark to the south and south east. The whole lot moved north to the east of us and the sky has largely cleared since the sun set.

Just been sitting outside for the last hour and it's a lovely cool calm and clear evening, perfect for sitting outside and watching the bats.

All it needed was some distant rumbles of thunder, that would have been perfect. :D
