Canadian Autumn/winter Thread

There have been big disruptions due to this storm that has tracked west from Vancouver. Yesterday Saskatoon in Saskatchewan was effectively closed. This is a large city that had many road closures, including all the main Highways in and out of the city

Blizzard conditions prevailed for most of the day with large accumulations, blowing snow and wind chill in the minus 40's.

Wind chill is currently affecting an area approximately twice the size of the UK from western Alberta, through Saskatchewan and into Manitoba. This is most of the Candian Prairies

Here in Southern Alberta, temps at 7am were minus 28oC with wind chill of minus 40oC. Not particularly enjoyable

Now a hugh high pressure cell is dominating over the 4 western provinces with a hugh cold pooling effectively just sitting over the region. Even Vancouver is going to be below freezing. Incidently Abbotsford, in BC, received a foot of snow in the past few days, with Vancouver even getting a few inches.

Looks like winter proper has arrived in Canada at last
