The warmest September day here since I began keeping records in 1963, max' reached 25.3c. Rather windy too with a max' gust of 41 mph at 1431 g.m.t.

The morning and early afternoon were virtually cloudless but after 1430 b.s.t. altocumulus lenticularis and perlucidus began to increase very quickly from the south.

Sunshine today, 9.42 hrs.

Most remarkable of all is that the warmest September day on record should occur so late in the month.

I cannot give temps as the sensor is dead but it's mild and breezy to sum it up.

It was nice just standing in the dark feeling the warmth, you don't often get the chance to do that in summer.

Report for Thursday 21st September 2006, Readings taken at 23:55.

After a clear night it was a sunny start without a cloud in the sky. As the day went on small amounts of fair weather cloud built but never enough to obscure the sun. Only in the last few hours has cloud thickened to any degree. Temperatures were exceptional for so late in the month, feeling warm even in the strong southerly wind.

Current Temp: 18.2°C

Max Temp: 25.3°C (at 14:27)

Min Temp: 15.9°C (at 06:45)

Wind: SE (10mph)

My September average currently stands at 17.6°C (+3.5°C Above the 1971-2000 average).
