A stormy start to October, unfortunately the best storms passed to the south and north

I got this lightning capture though, i cheated and used a video, then screen grabbed it

8.5 mm of rain during the early hours of this morning followed by the usual thick fog which lasted until 0815 g.m.t.

After that we had one heavy shower at midday lasting about a minute and another even shorter one at 1745, other than that the day was dry with a few short sunny intervals.

Max' temp' was 14.4c. Rainfall from 0800, 0.8 mm. Sunshine today, 0.90 hrs. Highest gust today was 42 mph at 0100 g.m.t.

After a wet and overcast night it was a bright start with some warm sunshine. During the morning however it then became quickly overcast, with very heavy rain moving in after midday. The rest of the afternoon then consisted of cloudy conditions with occasional showers, before brightening up and becoming clearer during the evening. Temperatures were exceptionally high for early October, feeling pleasant in the sunshine but cool at times when exposed to the southerly wind, which was gusty at during the early afternoon.
