Thundery showers/rain have been passing over since 5.30am. A very elongated cell has been moving over since about 9am and heading NW up the M5 corridor, plenty of activity in this one with strikes (mainly cloud to cloud i think) every 20 seconds or so. Blue sky to the west but other cells can be seen to the SW,

Think it may be a busy day in the SW?

Afternoon all. Have had 3 thunderstorms so far this month (today). One at 1.30am, one at 9.30am and a short one at 10.30am. Have collected 34.5mm. Loads of cells all around. Can also report large hail for a time.

All I can guess at is that we were continually invaded by lazy storms all through the night. I can't tell you how many times I woke up to distant thunder, but it was a lot. Really strange! Never known anything like it.

I got woken up sometime during the night by a loud rumble of thunder - sometime between 3am and 4am, I think.

We've had a very weak storm, with some extremely heavy rain, for the last 30-40 minutes or so.

Keep getting short sharp showers with the sun still out in kent, also the wind has picked up, heard a few distant rumbles of thunder about hour n half ago.

Thunderstorm passed through around 9am this morning.

A few flashes and rumbles, but it was the rain that was most impressive. Could hardly see anything in front of you apart from rain.

Back after a great week in the wildest outbacks of Somerset. It was up an excuse for a road, I have seen wider footpaths. So now back to normality. We have had a dull grey day with lots of showers this morning. The cloud seems to be starting to break up a little and getting much brighter.
