Had a mini-tornado here earlier and have just had some unbelievably heavy rain complete with gusts, thunder and lightning - totally mad at the moment!!

A fair bit of cloud to cloud lightning between 8.00-8.30pm and some very short but sharp showers earlier today. Still very breezy and hoping for some good lightning.

we had lightning all night, with some thunder and heavy showers thrown in, started at about 11.45pm last night till 5.am this morning. lots of fork and sheet lightning. it was coming from the south and west.

thought we might have had some today, but so far its been just heavy squally showers and strong gusty winds all day,

may be something will happen later...

It's been lightning off to the East on and off for the past 4 hours or so with thunder occasionally. Driving back from Canterbury to Thanet about 4:15pm saw absolutely blinding hail/torrential rain complete with an unexpected bolt of lightning hitting the field near us and earth shaking thunder. Didn't enjoy that one very much!

I was in Okehampton Devon yesterday morning woken by rumbles of thunder around 6am - 7am. Very heavy rain on and off all morning.

Around 12 noon on the drive home came through a cloud burst between Okehampton and Exeter which slowed two lanes of traffic to 20mph road surface became waterlogged, some of the heaviest rain I can remember being out in.

Back in Wallop late afternoon, reports of heavy rain throughout the day. Lightning and thunder between 8Pm - 8.30pm. Very quick short flashes of lightning in small bursts with long pauses before the next few flashes, cloud was very broken and rainfall very short lived possibly because it was moving through fast judging by the speed of the clouds passing the moon.

2nd Oct. rain showers here again this morning.
