One of the problems with the 24Hr Aspirated Shield is that you have to clean it out and replace the batteries. I was prompted by the silence from the fan which suggested that all wasn't well plus the nightime temps had drifted a little away from the Stevenson screen.

Taking it to bits and disconnecting the solar panel resulted in a non moving fan. I also noticed that the fan wasn't rotating smoothly. Not wanting fork out pounds for a new fan a quick blast WD40 got it rotating smoothly and quickly. I'll have to keep an eye on it and see what happens. Certainly will need a fan sometime in the next year though.

Mmm surprising how hard it is to get low powered circular fans. Looks like I'll have to contact Davis or a dealer.
