After an overcast and wet start it gradually turned into a mostly clear day with some pleasant sunshine. The evening then saw the cloud rapidly return, bringing a brief spell of heavy rain before becoming partly cloudy once more. Temperatures were exceptional for the time of year, though the wind did take the edge off somewhat.
