Dunno why people feed the Lawn. It grows quite happily with any extra help.

Dependent upon soil type, moisture content etc.

As the post above you clearly stated he is feeding the lawn to make up for lack of minerals.

I think NL means that he's feeding the cattle a winter diet to make up for the possible low mineral content of the grass, not feeding the grass itself.

Well, that is why we feed our grass lol ;)

Otherwise it is a lovely shade of yellow :D

To be honest I'm not really qualified to talk about grass as I only have concrete to worry about. But I guess green grass is better than yellow.

It is much nicer :D

Broggy, can you put your old av back? He was much better looking ;)

Brown grass is best you don't have to cut it.

feeding the grass is largely useless, its nothing more then a cosmetic act that really acheives anything much. most products are heavy in nitrogen, this will make the grass grow and turn it greener, but the growth is soft and of little benefit. the effects of the nitrogen soon wear off, besides who wants to cut the grass twice as often?..lol

trust me, i cut grass for a living and have done for 33 years!

however some folk with time and the willpower can create a 'bowling green' type lawn, but the secret to a good lawn isnt to bang on loads of fertilizer alone, but ground preperation, soil management and the sensible use of fertilizers. the bog standard fertilizers that are sold every spring are just nitrogen heavy, greening up the grass for a short period of time.... a cosmetic short term excersise, one not employed by serious groundsmen.
