Dense fog and then mist lifted to give hazy sunshine through the afternoon. Max 10c and not a breath of wind.

Misty now, 8c.

Unexpectedly foggy this morning, I thought it would be confined to the lower ground. Areas a few miles north of here at the same height were free of fog and about 6c warmer than here at 0800.

The fog cleared by about 1030 and the rest of the day was mainly sunny with small amounts of cirrus and altocumulus.
