I was just wondering if someone could tell me if there was snow in Aberdeen on Christmas day 1976. Just a day or so prior to Christmas a Greenland high shows signs of developing. By looking at the chart, it looks like cold, crisp sunny conditions with some light flurries. I wonder if anyone can confirm this?

I don't think there would have been a real white Christmas (with snow lying) but there was certainly a bookies' White Christmas in many places, with a five minute long flurry of sleet reported in London for example.

However, I'd be surprised if there wasn't lying snow in Aberdeen by the 27th, as a cold northerly swept south, traditionally a good setup for Aberdeen.
