Three changes today ; firstly, AND FINALLY, some sunshine in hazy spells from mid morning onwards , secondly the temperature has risen above 5c for the first time since Dec 18th, and thirdly quite a breeze picked up this afternoon.

I have just returned from freezing cold but sunny Aberdeen (-7c)yesterday morning to Newcastle where it is raining quite heavily with a temperature of 1.4c but no sign of any sleet,humidity 87%,wind light from an unknown origin,barometer 1023 mb and falling slowly.

Mostly cool and cloudy with low stratus this morning, this lifted and broke up around lunch time for the first time in 5 days, then just a little brightness around lunch time, before more cloudy weather spread in this afternoon bringing some light rain.
