Sleet & hail showers here in Lerwick today and also overnight. This morning there were slight accumulations at the roadside in various places in Shetland.

Hehe!

Nothing to get too excited about, it has to be said, theres been nothing much since. Never mind, looks like it could be a touch wintry up here again towards the end of the week and they way things have gone so far this winter I'll take what I can get!

Looking out of the window, there is fresh snow on the Lakeland Fells above about 500 metres this morning. Showers falling as snow down to 400 metres are forecast for today. Tomorrow promises to be a little more wild, with heavy and frequent showers falling as snow down to 500 metres in winds of up to 75mph over the tops. In other words, full on blizzard conditions on the hills.

Any ideas if there is any snow over the tops of the Derbyshire Peak District? Some of the higher parts are over 600 metres so i'm thinking it may be possible.

had 2 hail showers here, temp dipped to 3.6C during the second one. Could be a dusting of snow/hail above 500m but I cant see above 400m as there is a lot of low cloud

Crossfell is in Tynedale; not Cumbria.
