    I thought it worth a new thread about this. It is possible that records for several parts of the country may have been broken last night.

    My minimum of 12.6C is the highest January minimum I have recorded in the 10 years I have kept full records.

    Looking at RAF Finningley(now Doncaster Airport) the data from that site from 1943-1995 seems to suggest that its record was 12.2C on 15/01/1957.

    confirmed it is the record for Finningley - JH

    Last night saw a wide variation in temperatures, using just low level stations, ranging from the highest I have seen, at Exeter Airport with 14C to 2C at Alnaharra in northern Scotland. It was colder in the Highland areas with 2 places showing -2C.

    Any other reports of record high minimums for people with recording equipment?
