imagine its -0.2c and heavily snowing what a dream

its now -0.3c

Very promising signs. You are just a little further north and east of me. The small flakes are starting to fall more rapidly. Temerature at -1.3C. An eventual slight warming to around the 0C mark would produce larger flakes.

Light drizzle occasionally turning to snow and has given most parts a very light dusting. Typical, looking at the radar it shows the precipitation pepping up as its passed through us.

Very light snow falling here at the moment. Not enough to accumulate as yet. Looking at the radar, things might liven up here during the night.

Heavy snow for the past hour - all is covered inc me! Best snow I've seen in ages - slow moving front so if it arrives, expect plenty. Anyway- time to go play in the snow!

A couple of light flakes in the wind here in wisbech (north cambridgeshire).

I think the eastern edge of that front will pass by the western side of wisbech

... peterborough should get some though. :yahoo:

P.S: I've got a low light camera up one of my amateur radio masts ... looking

forward to seeing a wintery scene literally "over" the town.

Looks like West London may well be in line for that snow!

Makes a change, but also means a very late night.

Good Luck all!

and the ppn seems to be getting heavier as it moves south.

Give it a couple of hours and we should be in for a bit of a treat in London. Seems to be getting more organised as it moves south as far as the latest radar shows.

Fingers, toes and eyes crossed.

There's about 1cm of snow on the ground and it's still falling quite moderately.

Just seen this on the met Office site!!!

London & South East England: severe weather warnings

'From the early hours of Wednesday morning heavy snow falls are expected to spread southwards across many parts of central and southern England with up to 5cm of snow accumulating in places, especially on high ground. Following the snowfall clearing skies may lead to icy stretches on untreated road surfaces. The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the 'Highways Agency' for further advice on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads.'

I'm in North London so on the borderline tonight, but this will be my first 'lamppost watch' this winter.
