Carry on here, I for one am very happy. Front still trying to drive northwards but its only doing so very slowly right now.

As Steve said there is still a lot of precip to come for this area so intresting to watch, already a little drifting occuring 2 inch drifts on window.

Happy now my friend........ :D

I am rather glad the sweet spot was Oxford........ :drinks:

Lets hope it stalls about now...........

S

Well we wont know whether it was the sweet spot till morning. Right now id be surprised, because some places out towards wales must have inches and inches. And it sounds like theres loads ofmpotential for you guys further east, but we have done well so far, true. Plenty of fine snow driving down still, and i have a three inch drift!! Yes i know its cheating, but its directly facing the wind so its just accumulated there, and it looks mighty fine. probably level snow somewhere approaching two inches.

Ill finish my work and go out in a while to take photos and measure and whatnot. Then nap, then u again for 8 oclock.....

because of the weather, ill have had 5-6 hours of sleep in 60 hours!

I'm not going to go through the last thread but I can only assume that large parts of southern England now have snow given what I have currently?

Nanu, yep that was quite possible, said to watch out for such cell development esp where lots of energy is along the front.

Steve, bitter day tommorow as well if this keeps ups, good ole albedo effec could give us a ice day, esp if the cloud can stick around!

Ha! Another Putneyite.....yup, I've got a bit under 2cm here, and it's still falling steadily, if not very heavily. Temp has dropped back to freezing, too, and it's settling now on the pavements and even the gritted road.

Yep – looking good here isn’t it – with more to come judging by the radar.

Snow here about 3-4cm deep. I am presuming that Abingdon (15 miles away to the north) has some too... :drinks:

Just seen Rob McElwee's forecast on News 24. Doesn't look good for central and northern parts of East Anglia nor the north Midlands. It will snow yes, but possibly not enough to be ars*ed about.

Might just scrape Leicester he suggested before fizzling out.

Contrary to the radar, it hasn't been snowing here for the past two hours, its still some twenty miles to my SW.

Ah im getting depressed. We've still got very fine and fairly thick powdery snow driving down, but it must be on the way out by now. The radars are all suggesting the main brunt of the snow is starting to get beyond me here. Bit to come, but probably scaling down.

Stall goddamnit!! The clouds are doing their best around here to pep up on the spot, but im not sure theres too much more to be had. need a few follow up waves.

First front looks like its gone through, winds appear to have shifted a little over the last 10 mins and radar shows the core of the heavy line of precip has passed with a snowfall rate of about an inch an hour roughly here.

radar shows the system is presently pivoting further right now and its having a hard time getting further north, which is pleasent enough to see!

Well I have to say i'm a bit lost for words. I've never seen a radar return like that over the top of me not producing something from the skies. Upto -1C exactly now.

What a great night of radar watching this is turning out to be. Couldn't access the NW Extra radar for yonks yesterday evening, and now its fibbing ridiculously.

Absolutly chucking it down here still-

Approaching 2 inches soon..........

Awaiting the 5am radar with baited breath.........

Sounds very similar to what we have here at the mo. My suspicions are that is all for the heavy snow, but all eyes on the radar in the hope of being proved wrong... by the way anyone know where the Pennines are? :drinks:
