like your drizzle description Lady P, not one I've come across in the Synoptic code, but it does sum things up nicely. We will make a meteorologist of you yet ma'am!

A spell of snow during the early hours of this morning but it had turned to light rain and drizzle by 0630 and any fresh lying snow had completely thawed.

An overcast day, only the second so far this month with no sunshine. There were a few outbreaks of drizzle or light rain this morning but never amounting to much. Longer spells of moderate drizzle from 1500 with the stratus lowering onto the hills at times to give mist or fog.

Temp' at 1800, 6.2c after an overnight min' of 0.1c and a max' today of 6.8c .

Rainfall from 0900, 0.5 mm

Sunshine today, nil

Mean wind speed at 1800, 21 mph N

8 oktas stratus with intermittent moderate drizzle falling

Vis' 5 miles

Numerous small snow drifts remaining but thawing steadily.

A fine evening which has followed a fairly sunny day with just patchy cloudcover, temps dropping steadily to give a touch of frost by the end of the night.
