I must commend, not just Dan Corbett who has just been on, for the big increase in use of synoptic charts on all BBC forecasts not just the late night weatherview or countryfile. It surely makes it easier, even for joe public, to see what's going on and how we are getting the weather we are getting using synoptic charts.

We are still a long way from the halycon days of Ian McCaskill's lengthy and educational forecasts ...

On Radio 5 live's weather forecast at 6.30am this morning, Alex Deacon revealed he was a big darts fan - so much so that his nickname is Alex "The Death" Deacon and he has the skull & Crossbones on his flights! (On a more mundane note he forecast the cold weather would last at least another week.)
