Had a very sharp intense local thunderstorm last night. Started about 11.45pm and passed within about 20 minutes. There were several impressive CG strikes around us and one directly overhead - thundered instantly. Rain turned so heavy at one point that I went back outside to make sure it wasn't hailstones (I'd already gotten soaked walking back from the pub.)

Think you were too far away, I saw a flash up by the Airport around the same time as Rollo but that was it. Shower appeared to drift west from there.

I heard it in South Shields quite a long and loud rumble, but when the storm passed overhead nothing,

except a bit rain nothing too heavy..

A few rumbles and some rain here in Swindon with nice cloud formations and varying wind directions probably due to updrafts.Nothing amazing but a good start. :whistling:
