Cold, wet and miserable. We've just reached 24 hours of continuous rain here, mostly moderate to heavy. And the wind's now getting up, to add to the fun! Currently 8.9 deg C, today's max 11.2, last night's min 9.5. I'm struggling to remember the last time we only recorded a maximum of 11 degrees in May. And the prediction is for more of the same tomorrow except maybe a little colder :)

A cloudy day with pulses of heavy rain. Cold northeasterly winds and a max temp of just 9C!! In the last hour or so the wind has really picked up, still from the northeast, and there are some gale force guts, with quite a lot of tree debris on the roads. Still some showery rain about.

Temp: 8.5C, steady

Humidity: 91%, steady

Pressure: 997mb, rising

Wind: squally gale, from the northeast

Blah. Can't edit for some reason, so couple of pictures I've just found (from the A51 near Nantwich) will have to go on a separate post.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
