Intereting somebody mentioned a change in the wind direction. Fell asleep about 4 hrs ago as I was feeling ill, took some painkillers for my back and they gave me a dicky head. Just looked outside and the wind is heading in a completely different direction to earlier on, i'm sure it was a southwesterly and now it a south easterly/ easterly blowing! :drinks:

I think they will not be any stoms for tomorrow

There are some predicted for my area tomorrow. Although your area is more unlikely than today.

    Blizzards,

Just because the Surface winds have shifted to the east or South East does not mean they will definately come in your direction, Storms are steered by Upper Winds, Surface winds make do not make any difference to the Storm Motion.

Had a heavy shower mid-afternoon as it went very dark with a gusty wind best so far this year.

Then later on saw a few stunning CB`s to theS/SE including this one :drinks: nothing coming this way now as they are decaying.

Did expect thunder from that and one just to the right of it as they were impressive. but nothing today.

There is something 40-50 miles to my SE that is giving hits to the IoW radar. I can make out its feathered top as the sky is blue beyond local cloud, except the SE which is light grey beyond local cloud, the top of an anvil I think. Very tempted to go to the top of my favorite hill and look, but I'll wait till dusk... :unknw:

Welcome aboard Guenhwyvar, there is a chance you may see something tonight - between 10pm and 2pm looks your best shot, but no guarantees!

If you run the radar sequences you can see the Storms being eroded as they approach the areas of CINH, Not looking very likely if you are hanging your hopes on the Initial band of showers currently Mid Channel, As Paul says CINH Not as widespread later between 10pm and early morning so possibilities of an import but just a VERY Slim chance.

post-4726-1180634099_thumb.png This is looking better than earlier on.

Hi Guenhwyvar welcome to NW. I hope to see something after dark at least in the Channel, even if it does not make land.

    Regards,

    Russ

Looks like there could at last be something heading this way.

Think you might be right, similar view to my south at the moment, cloud seems to be growing quite rapidly.

In addition, there's a band of rain heading your/my way up the A1/A19.

The last pics show the downpour no more than 100 meters away. Where I took the photo it was dry.
