Just noticed this date is coming up.  Looks very very safe for this year.

Under 200 hours away on the models now. GFS 00z showed 30C in the London area for the 13th but the 12z run shows nowhere in the UK above 20C!

Do any of the winter months have an enigma for low temperatures, like the 13th June has for 30 degress?

read the thread from page 2

I can see it happening. If we can get 32c today who's to say we can't get at least 30 on Tuesday? Came very close in 2021 with a setup less ideal for heat than this

Should be slightly cooler by Tuesday but still a chance of it happening.

Latest UKV says 30C on the south coast, probably elsewhere too but its at the edge of its range:

Looks like it could finally be falling.

Looks like the enigma / quirk may come to an end this year at last!

It will be a travesty if it does, one of the more interesting statistical quirks we have in this country, let it continue to be an enigma 🙏.

I really don't see the 'enigma'... it's like missing the double sixteen, the double eight... and ending up on double one? 😁

I think it is this time. I can't see the date record surviving.

I want to claim it! 😇

Well.. it took 16 years of this thread and after many close attempts, it's finally happening.

Will be very surprised if it doesn't breach 30C tomorrow.

I don't think it's a done deal yet.  I'd say, quite likely but not definite.  A date record, yes.

Look to somewhere like Hurn, Gosport Fleetlands, Exeter, somewhere like that, to get there.
