Netweather radar picking this up, but just take a Look at the Met Office 1pm radar, I think you will see what we are talking about, it has gone quite messy now and very much like a massive MCS, But it was the 12pm grab that looked most impressive certainly from shape.

Paul S

at 12pm it looked as if there was a small 'eye' as it were to the developed storm. still incredibly intense now though just a little more spread out. What are the odds of this being underestimated by metO for the time it reaches us?

Latest radar not so promising for the South East of the Uk, more of an east north-east movement to the area over France, and its western extent fizzling out, would expect only the tip of Kent to possibly get anything from this little lot, but showers now breaking out ahead and one has gone up to the North West of London, expect these to travel North Eastwards towards East Anglia this afternoon.

Looks like I might be able to add 716 days to my signature, 28th June getting ever closer

There are 2 Storms that are taking off in the Uk at present, one is currently heading North East from North West London, the other about 50 Miles South West of Birmingham, these are both heading North Easterly at present, may need to keep an eye on them, 12z Vis Satelite shows them really well.

Can't see what the excitement is all about. Been watching Net Weather Radar and nothing really special over the channel. I'm just wondering if anything will home brew.

Go to the Meto Site and click on the Satelite Imagery, shows a Cumulus Field and 2 areas of enhanced TCU Which now have radar echoes, also have something brewing out to my North East now, about the same track as last nights storm, this is developing quite rapidly as well and would expect radar to pick this one up on the next update, the french stuff is starting to struggle now.

Either I'm going mad, or I have just heard a rumble of thunder.

Every year we watch these wonderful storms erupt over northern France. Seldom do they make it across the channel, but when they do... :D  ...

I can see the 2 cells to the north east of milton keynes now. Clouds look very dark, heading through towcester and then onto northampton by the direction they are travelling.

Anyone round here notice how warm and moist the SE wind is today? Just been outside to gander at the sky once more after the wind has picked up a little, it's like someone has a hairdryer pointed at you

Tamara

You should have precip within the next 90 minutes, looks like a wet afternoon for the far South East of the Uk.

LOL, the BBC weather an hour ago said the SE would escape with a largely dry afternoon.

Now that (quite large) mass of rain looks headed for the area in question.
