As promised the footage of a short lived funnel cloud descending from a mean looking storm. I was standing just East of Hinkley so i'd estimate this funnel was somewhere about 7-8 miles NE of Hinkley.

I drove over the Severn Bridge around 6pm last night and that was some of the meanest looking cloud I have ever seen in this country. We all saw clear rotation in the cloud at the leading edge although it didn't quite make it to a fully formed funnel. I couldn't take pictures as I had a carfull of kids on their way to camp!! The rain was torrential over the bridge.

Yeah I live in Atherstone which is West of Hinkley and I saw LOTS of instability on the leading edge around 15:20-25, very fast moving clouds spinning but no funnel, great vid mate !

Yes it was a bit shaky i know. Its what you get when you combine zoom with an excited hand

Although there wouldn't of been enough time to set one up - it only lasted for a very short time.

excellent video there, loved to storm structure, looked really menacing. Looks like some more possible funnel clouds today!
