Afternoon,

Rain moved up through exeter from the south starting around 13.00. Preceded by an area of defined if not overly spectacular mammatus. Moderate rain with the odd rumble of thunder, presumably CC as no flashes observed. MetOff radar suggest main body of storm moving up through plymouth and west devon.

edit -Ah typo! Not sure i can change the title? Mods please?

A few rumbles to the southwest of Bristol now. Some spots of rain started to fall as well.

15.30 just had a five minute downpour. Visibility no more than 60m, eased off now with a lot of low level stratus and the odd rumble but no flashes so still presumably CC. LW radio (test match special) picking up a lot of crackle and on the radar it looks like the main body of rain is moving out in to the severn estuary and up towards bristol. Just what the Glastonbury site did not need.

One of the best storms I've seen in a long time here. Had a drive around the North Somerset area in torrential rain. Much of a town called Portisheads high street is under water and being pumped out by the fire brigade. Also manhole covers forced off and 3 ft high spouts of water coming up!

Just had an hour of FlashBangs and heavy rain. Blue sky to the SW now

and brightening up.

Great fun watching it approach.

Few rumbles of thunder and a couple of quite close lightning flashes with moderate rainfall.

One very large dark sky above and lightning less than 1 mile away.

the wind has dropped and some very large blobs of rain are staring to fall

its show time ;)

edit make that less than half a mile away just witnesses a large IC.
