Rain Totals 2007

October has been a strange month with only seven days where measurable rain has fallen, three of these with a small 0.5mm, but the final total is still 76.5mm because the days when it rained heavily provided heavy falls of 27.5mm (1 Oct), 12.5mm (9 Oct), 27.5mm (16 Oct) and 7.5mm (28 Oct).

Jan = 109.5mm

Feb = 121.5mm

Mar = 63mm

Apr = 10.5mm

May = 159mm

June = 114mm

July = 131mm

Aug = 62mm

Sep = 35.5mm

Oct = 76.5mm

Total = 882mm

Update for here this year:

Jan - 72.5mm

Feb - 107.7mm

Mar - 62.9mm

Apr - 1.6mm

May - 101.0mm

Jun - 88.7mm

Jul - 140.8mm

Aug - 45.4mm

Sep - 18.8mm

Oct - 39.1mm

Total so far - 678.5mm, which is pretty much average for this time in the year.

April and October are the driest I've recorded in my 12yrs of records. July was the wettest.

I have never seen such low Autumnal Rainfall since I began collecting records. We are going to end up in the VERY BELOW Category for rainfall this year.

It's ridiculous that some places had well over a quarter of that amount on July 20th alone!

Up to 0900 today the total for the year here is 1068.9mm. The 30 year average is about 1050mm so it's a wetter than average year with 6 weeks to go. Around the end of August I was thinking we might get a record breaking year but I think the dry autumn ( up to 3 days ago ) has knocked that on the head, unless we get a record breakingly wet December.

The annual average has almost been reached by the end of November. (approx 1250mm)

Just over 1120mm here up to this morning, the annual average is about 1058.

If it's a record breakingly wet December we could still manage to get the wettest year on the 30 year record.

Very unlikely though I would think.

BTW - The Aug-Nov rainfall is the lowest I have ever recorded since i started, only 103.4mm, just over an Inch per month

September= 36.9mm

October= 21.6mm

November= 51.9mm

December {so Far} 5.5mm Alot dryer in these parts compared too some areas

Unfortunately i dont have data for the begging of the year, as my rain gauge packe up , and i only repaired it back in september {lack of time] The reed went so i replaced it and its working fine now
