It's been a decent, if breezy morning here this morning (windy enough to throw my golf game all to hell), though the last thread brought back all the memories of last month here.

Remember, the EA website updates every 15 minutes - severe flood warnings started to appear in our area 3-4 hours after the heaviest rain began falling last month, so they should be appearing soon. Whereever you are, stay safe.

What a contrast. Sun out here now and the flood which was gathering in my garden and I was frantically spreading around about an hour ago has completely disappeared.

Temperature has also risen in the past hour from 14.8c to 19.2c.

Still dry here, though looking at the Met Office rainfall radar, I'm on the northern edge of the eastern 'arm' of it.

WOW! All I can say is WOW

The most torrential rain... despite having all my waterproofs they didn't work and I got soaked! water up to my knees (well probably deeper but that's as far as I went)... and the river Chelt (usually a stream) could have been the river Wye!!! It was about 15ft wide!!!

two cars got stuck under the bridge as well.

Pictures coming...

beautiful clear skies and afir weather clouds here, the air is crystal clear, also very breezy and can see the distant anvils of what has passed wayy off to my West and North.

Winds have switched round from SSE to SW as the low centre passes through.

Anyway back on topic, just been watching SkyNews and News24, some incredible images from London and other areas of southern England. The rainfall must have been torrential!

It's still moderate rain here, currently on 21mm, bearly an inch.

Becoming increasingly more overcast and darker here. Don't think there weill be alot of rainfall, but as has been proven on many occasions so far this summer, anything can happen.

Great piccys AL 8) Reminds me of what happened here last month.

8) I'm on the southern edge of the system now so should clear soon, but there is a 'sting in the tail' it seems as it's absolutely hammering down with big gusts of wind smashing against the windows..................crazy!

Recent reports of thunder from Leicester and Coventry. Surely it can't miss me if its heading NW, although the Derby forcefield will probably shred it into nothing more than a few spots of rain!

I work for the local council and they have issued an emergency for Gloucestershire - all councils are putting their emergency planning teams into action. The rain is apparently due to continue here til 1.00am!!!

Heavy rain is literally sweeping across the playground of a local school. I tried to capture it with my camera but it's hard to see:

Absolutely lashing it down. The rain hasn't stopped here since about 8.50am this morning, but it's been particularly heavy over the past few hours with a bit of storm activity earlier.

I find it amazing that Pitsford Hall have only recorded 21mm so far today, I'm sure we must have had more than that here. (only around 5 miles away)

The rain has now begun here....

Should continue through this evening, with some heavy and thundery bursts before easing overnight.

Thanks Gav, lovely Photos mate you must be really proud :) He is very cute :) (Just the same as Potty is) :)

Anyway back on topic :)

Yes some unbelievable pictures coming in today. It really has bee a nast day indeed.

Looking at the radar it doesn't look like improving for sometime either in places.

There appears to be a lot of rain to come for some, and to make things worse the outlook for

next week looks poor too. What a dreadful summer. :drinks:

Sitting here thinking whats all the fuss is about :drinks: . By the time the rain gets up here its be lighter and it will be just plain old boring rain rather than anything to heavy/torrential.
